| What is Fertility 1st? |
| We are an introductory agency aiming to introduce recipients to our extensive database of donors. |
| Do you test the donors? |
| We do not carry out tests for recipients however we do, for a monthly fee, make sure that all donors submit to testing using our own services. Test results may be provided however they will only contain the donor number and there is a small charge for postage & packing for this service. |
Pool Donors
We advise all recipients to consider pool donors above non pool donors as these are our most successfull and reliable donors available. All Pool donors have been sperm tested and have STD tests every 12 weeks as standard. |
Non Pool Donors
If a non pool donor is chosen there will be an extra charge of £95 for sperm
tests if they have never been tested before, all STD tests are covered by
normal costs. |

| We are a lesbian couple. Can we use this service? |
| Fertility 1st strongly believe that everyone has a right to parenthood including lesbians, single women or heterosexual couples. |
| What are your success rates? |
| With regards to the success rates for home insemination using fresh sperm these are extremely well documented, our rates for the last 12 month period are in the region of 33% but this does depend on the recipients age and fertility rating. |
| How do I know how many donors there are in my area? |
| We have such an extensive donor database that most clients would have a choice as we cover 99% of the UK. |
| Introductory Payment |
| This payment is required before any introductions can be made. This payment covers all the communication between recipient and donor and will cover the costs of administration etc. The introductory payment can be rolled over, if no deliveries are required, for a maximum of 3 months. |
| How long will my registration last? |
| This will last for life or until such time that you request to take no further part in the programme. We have the right to remove any recipient from the programme for any reason or reasons we feel necessary. |
| Will I definetely conceive? |
| You must be aware that not everyone will be successful. For any concerns we advise that you consider our fertility testing service, available here. Older recipients may take longer to concieve. |
| How long does the sperm live for? |
| Sperm starts to deteriorate around 3 hours outside the body depending on the environmental conditions it is kept in but we would only forward information on donors within a two hour travelling period from your given address. |
| How many donors do you have? |
| We have in excess of 500 nationwide at present but we have on average 3 donors registering daily therefore this number is ever increasing. |
| Do you supply self-insemination kits? |
| Your introductory fee covers the cost of the insemination kit(s) and will be forwarded to your chosen donor upon your request. |
| How do I pay? |
| You can pay online with PayPal through our website and just click on the amount to pay or alternatively you can send a cheque to Fertility 1st Ltd, Accounts Dept,

RG1 4EB and make the cheque payable to Fertility 1st Ltd or alternatively you can pay via direct bank transfer but you will need to request our bank details to do this. |
